Doug Funny & Patty Mayonnaise

Oh happy day!
As of today we have starting selling pickles, and not just any pickle! Our dear friend Doug McNatton, an incredible personal chef, brought us a case of his Aunt Hazel's famous Bread & Butter Pickles, still hot from canning! I had my first experience with his pickles when I found a jar of them in my parents fridge while visiting them. I ate the whole thing in one sitting (they don't call them snacking pickles for nothing)! Since then I have bought practically every kind of bread & butter pickle you can find in the LA area, and most of Brooklyn, but none compare to the tart, vinegary, crunchy, flavorful taste of Aunt Hazel's. So now after two years we are reunited and I get to share them with you. While half of me hopes no one buys any so I can take them all home I know my doctor and your palate will thank you for buying a jar. At $8 a jar there is no reason not to!

Hope to see you all tomorrow at the farmers market. We'll be open 8am - 2pm!

Thank you to everyone who came last night!
We had an absolute blast!
We're a little worse for wear (blame the ginger, peach, vodkas) but we're open!
Come and see us today 11-7.

Party Pics coming soon.

Item Of The Week: The Golden Muse Lamp

Come and gaze upon our very FIRST Item Of The Week!
This beautiful 20s lamp is made out of gilded bronze and cut crystal with a thin sheet of gold that is wearing through giving it a great vintage feel. It stands 33" tall from base to the top of the harp and 10" across the base. We're guessing it's Polyhymnia the muse of poetry based on her veil and robes (though her sassy smirk makes me think it might be Thalia the muse of comedy)  but what it really reminds me of are some of my favorite 20s film actresses such as Louise Brooks (pictured above) Thelma Todd or Evelyn Brent! Not only does she share their heart shaped  faces (and do I detect the famous Clara Bow lips) but it's not hard to imagine this lamp in the back drop of Pandora's Box or The Bohemian Girl! It truly is a wonderful find and at $198 it's a steal!

Please feel free to call us at (818) 763-2060 with any questions or visit us at our store Hide & Seek. We do over the phone orders for anyone who doesn't live in the area and will soon be setting up an Etsy account to make it even easier! Be sure to keep checking back!
