The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Ten Is A Great Eco Friendly Way To Wrap Gifts

Here at Hide & Seek we like coming up with new ways to give gifts which is why we recently acquired a modest selection of biscuit tins! We think that they are just the perfect thing to fill with treats for friends and neighbors. Additionally you can fill them with small presents and slip them into Christmas stockings. Even by themselves they make quite a handsome gift!

We have them in all shapes, sizes, colors and prices. While most range from $10-$15 you can find some for under ten and if you're looking for that wow factor we have a beautiful 1910 Wormever tin from Holland that just has to be seen! Come pick them up at our store Hide & Seek (click for map) and please feel free to call us at (818) 763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com if you have any questions.

The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Nine Is For You

I can't believe I made it until day nine to mention one of my favorite items we have in the store! Finally the day is here to talk about our three tier cake plates.

Each one is hand made with a group of three plates and two tea cups that have been drilled together to make them sturdy and ready for anything. In my house we use ours for all the produce we need at our finger tips when we are cooking but there are an incredible amount of uses for these. In keeping with the holiday spirit I suggest covering them with delicious sweets and goodies for guests at your annual party. Just don't pack it away with the rest of your Christmas stuff because you'll get use out of this baby all year around.

Now a gift like this is useful to just about everyone on your list but today is about you so pick one up for yourself and be the most envied person on the block. Then maybe next year, if they're nice, you'll get them one too!

To those who like the idea but aren't sure about the look of the pictured cake plate, fear not, we have four like it in the store*. They're are all different colors and sizes and we're always making more! The prices range from $28-$35 and they can be found at our store Hide & Seek (Click for map). If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (818) 763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com.

The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Eight For The Man With A Game Room

Welcome to day eight of our 25 Days of Christmas posts!

Today for you we have a very smart looking antique dartboard. That's right, I said antique! This baby is over one hundred years old and still in working condition. It features a cork body on a metal base and is ready to hang. The side not shown in the picture above includes a regulation dartboard with the classic 20 radial sections. Pick it up for the straight shooter in your life and help them bring this classic bar game home. Family tournament anyone?

You can buy the above dart board at our store, Hide & Seek (Click for map) for $60. Please call us at (818) 763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com if you have any questions.

The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Seven Deserves a Drink

And on the seventh day we rested....... with a nice stiff cocktail!

I could tell you how to make a peppermint martini or an eggnog martini but if you, or your guests, are anything like us here at Hide & Seek they'd appreciate a well made classic martini much more than indeterminable sugar sludge.

To this:

We say this:

And bring a different idea for your Holiday party: A Martini Bar! Now we know the "perfect martini" is as big a variable as the "perfect song" or the "best Beatle" which is why a martini bar is such a bright idea! You can set up small dishes with lemon and orange peel, olives, coriander seeds and any other garnishes you can think of! Now all you need is a bottle of Vermouth, one of Gin and another of Vodka. A small mixer like the one at our store (shown in top photo) is the perfect tool for each guest to make their individual cocktails, or one for them and a friend. Just put out a pitcher of the most basic martini you can make (we suggest 4 parts Beefeater gin to 1 part Noilly Prat dry vermouth)  for those who are a little shy to mix and they can go crazy with garnishes. It's a fun way to get your guests mingling and they will thank you for the break from the too sweet drinks they've been served at every other party.

Oh how they will thank you!

The martini kit in the first photo can be found at our store Hide & Seek (Click For Map). The shaker is $25, the martini glasses are two for $14 and the pitcher is $22. Please feel free to call us at (818)763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com for more information.

The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Five For the Hostess

By now I'm sure the holiday party invites are flooding your mail box, both literal and electronic, and now not only do you have to find an outfit, do your best to stick to that two drink limit you've put into effect after last year's work party debacle, and try not to eat too many Christmas cookies but you also have to find a hostess gift. Well we can't help you with the first three, but we have you covered for the last!

This beautiful Silverplate gravy bowl and Silverplate dish will be just what the hostess needs to complete her Christmas table setting and she'll thank you for crossing one thing off her list of stuff to do! Now you know you'll be invited back next year even if your two drink limit becomes a two drink minimum.

The Silverplate gravy bowl is priced at $24 and the Silverplate dish at $15. You can find them both at Hide & Seek (Click for Map).* Please feel free to call us at (818)763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com with any questions you may have.

The 25 Days of Christmas Posts: Day Four For The Californian

We know that yellow isn't exactly the color that comes to mind when you think of the holidays but I think you'll agree that in sunny Los Angeles, it fits just fine.

Today we are bringing you a double dose of yellow California charm. First off we have a handled pitcher by Padre Pottery, a Los Angeles company that made pottery from 1930-1952 and was similar to other pottery groups such as Gladding McBean, Bauer and Catalina that were all operating in California during that period. The second piece is a two handled ceramic vase by Bauer, a company that started in Kentucky but quickly relocated to Los Angeles where it is still produced today! Talk about buying local!

Both pieces have nice clean lines, great silhouettes and will look great filled with flowers or just left alone. We hope they will bring a little California to all your out of town friends and family or be a great addition to your favorite Angeleno's home!

Each item is priced at $30* and can be found at our store Hide And Seek (Click for Map) . Please feel free to call us at (818)763-2060 or email us at hideandseekla@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Happy Shopping!
